How Bancore Works

You will most often be alerted by SMS that someone is trying to send money to your mobile phone, and you will be prompted to contact Bancore by SMS or voice call to open a mobile account tied to a virtual payment card.

 

A Bancore robot will ask you for the necessary Know-Your-Customer (KYC) details and tell you to choose a 4-digit PIN which – together with your phone number – becomes your account number. This is immediately confirmed to you by Bancore who will also send a MasterCard or VISA payment card to your phone screen.

 

If someone has sent you money, you can now start spending it, either by using your new “card” or by transferring amounts to the online/mobile accounts of other recipients you want to pay.
